This no-bake bread pudding is a classic, comforting dessert made without an oven. Cooked on the stovetop using a water bath (bain-marie), it turns out soft, creamy, and rich, topped with a delicious caramel layer.

🛒 Ingredients
For the Bread Pudding
- 1 liter milk
- 200 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 300 g day-old bread
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
For the Caramel
- Store-bought caramel or homemade
- 100 g sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
👩🍳 How to Make No-Bake Bread Pudding
1. Prepare the Caramel
In a pan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water.
Cook until it melts and turns into a golden caramel.

Pour the caramel into the bottom of a heatproof mold (preferably metal) and spread evenly. Let it cool and harden.
2. Make the Bread Mixture
- Cut the bread into small pieces and place in a large bowl

In another bowl:
- Beat the eggs with sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest
- Add this mixture to the soaked bread

- Place the mold inside a larger pot
